OMG! I must have been so bored at work today.  I can’t believe how many posts I put up

How pissed off am I?

I was just looking through eBay for any aquarium equipment that is located near me and I found a heap of glass listed.  The thing that shits me about this is that it is cheap and close to me, but I have nowhere to store it until I move house.

So, you’re no doubt wondering why this is shitting me…  Well it’s simple really, I want to get hold of some cheap glass so I can practice glass cutting and drilling and hopefully start building some fish tanks; it seems to me that it would be a hell of a lot cheaper to make my own tanks than to buy them at a shop.

Oh well, I guess I’ll miss out on this lot of glass, but if anyone is interested in purchasing some random bits of glass and you can pick it up from the Lismore area, check out eBay auction number 290261574954 (it ends at 16:23:51 on 28th September 2008).

OMFG, today is a crap day to be stuck in an office.  I’d much rather be down at the beach.

The forecast for Lismore today is:

At 11:00am it was already 28.5 degrees; this is a perfect day to be taking a “sickie” (because it makes me sick to have to work on a day like today) and to take the Moke down to the beach.  Instead here I am stuck in an office (alone as per usual) and looking out the window on such a glorious day.  I guess the air-conditioner is some consolation, but it’s crap at its job and barely cools the office down.

Oh well, the things we do for money.  Bring on the day that I can breed fish at home and make a living from it; at least then on a day like today I could bludge and go to the beach.

While I’m having a bitch about banks I may as well have a bitch about phone companies too.

About 4 and a half years ago I diisputed a bill with Vodafone.  At the time I thought the issue had been resolved (I can’t even remember what the issue was now); but apparently Vodafone decided to list it as an unpaid bill with Veda Advantage (a credit reporting agency).  Vodafone was supposed to send me notification of the listing, but I never recieved it so I was completely unaware of this listing until I applied for a mortgage.

Eventually I got through to a guy by the name of Mark who was able to assist me with resolving the issue and we agreed that I would pay the outstanding balance (I figured I can’t continue disputing the bill if I can’t even remember what the issue was) and that Vodafone would remove the listing with Veda Advantage.  Mark also agreeded to accept a payment of 2/3rds of the value of the outstanding balance.

Over two weeks ago I sent Vodafone a bank cheque for the amount Mark and I had agreed upon and it has been confirmed by Vodafone that they recieved this cheque on the 9th of September.  At present Vodafone still has not updated my credit report and this is stopping me from getting a mortgage to purchase a house I have seen.

I wonder how long it will take or if I will have to have another discussion with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman to get this sorted out.  I just hope that everything gets sorted out and I can get pre-approval for my mortgage before the house I have seen sells.

Well I’ve decided Internet banking sucks.  I thought the Internet was supposed to make things faster and easier, but it doesn’t seem to.  I have just transferred some money from my account with the Greater Building Society to my account with St George Bank.  Greater immediately removed the money from my account, but here I sit, 3 hours later and the money still hasn’t appeared in my St George account.

Why is this taking so long?  I could have gone to the bank, withdrawn the cash, walked to the other bank and put the cash into my account and been able to use it immediately for my eBay purchases, with the amount of time this is taking I would have been able to receive the items in the post before this money has even transferred.

Oh well, so much for technology making our lives quicker.  Maybe I should complain to the bank, but then again, that’s just a waste of time and effort because we all know the banks don’t give a shit about us small customers.

I started installing my new car stereo this weekend.  I had to enlarge the hole in the dash so the waterproof case would fit.  I managed to get everything hooked up and only had to make one mid-install trip to Dick Smith to get some parts.

I’ve only got one speaker connected at the moment because I don’t know where to locate the others, but I’ll sort that out once I have a house and garage, then I can make some more parts.  At least for now I have music in the car.

I logged onto the SodaStream website today to order some more flavours and some gas cylinders, but it appears as though the gas cylinders aren’t available.  I’ve emailed them to see if I can just buy a refill and not return the cylinders as their site has this functionality built-in.

Well it’s been a long time coming; but I finally got around to setting up a personal blog.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I despise writing it.
